Ep#9 - 10 Ways You Are Ignoring Your Boundaries

Amy-Lee Farr

What are Personal Boundaries

Boundaries help you to Define your identity, Protect yourself from people who want to violate them, bring order to your life, promote you at work or as a leader, Protect you from the control of other people, and Preserve your mission or purpose in life, Protect your most acceptable personal assets, and satisfy your need for self-affirmation.

As written in the book “Better boundaries: Owning and Treasuring your life” by J.Black and G Ennes in 1997; Having rigid or poor boundaries can lead to loss of respect from self and others, loss of control of the direction of your life, increased chaos, distractions, and guilt, complete loss of interest in life, as well as not meeting your goals in life which can lead to depression, hopelessness or anxiety.

Without personal boundaries, “you will act, sleep, work, groan, feel used, and fulfil basic responsibilities rather than make choices to live fully, work hard and nobly, fulfil your purpose, and contribute passionately to your world.”

Boundaries are a life-enhancing system of yes, and know they are stop signs and borders you install to protect yourself so that it is clear that you own your life, make good choices and pursue the authentic expression of who you are in the way you live love give and relate.
